How to help others?

Many people believe that by assisting others, they will somehow improve others situations, and those who offer help often think they achieve a higher moral standing. Unfortunately, these outcomes often do not materialize as expected. Let me explain.

Consider this example: in the current culture, many family members or friends request financial assistance during times of need or emergencies. However, upon closer examination, they often don't actually need the help but rather want it. In most cases, these individuals have houses, savings in bank deposits, and possibly one or two additional properties. While they may not have readily available liquid assets, they can liquidate their current assets to access the funds however, they dont want to liquidate as it does not yeild profits to their expectation. Although this may not be possible immediately in some cases, it highlights their poor financial management. By helping such individuals, you are encouraging their behavior, which can worsen as they will never correct their behavior and second they begin to take others' money for granted.

They prefer to avoid the formal process of taking loans because it would create a financial burden for them. Instead, they want you to bear the financial burden to help them maintain a comfortable lifestyle. Many people borrow money from friends without any solid plans to repay it. These individuals are essentially thieves, wolves in sheep's clothing.

If someone wishes to help others, they should first ensure that the person in need has no liquid or non-liquid assets. Assistance should only be given in emergency situations; otherwise, it doesn't count.

An alternative approach is based on this principle: ssist the hungry by teaching them how to fish rather than providing fish. Educate a person on the technique and allow them to try it a few times to understand it on their own. This approach prevents them from depending on others in the future. You offer help only if they make genuine attempts and still fail. For example getting better at exams or applying to jobs, failing in workouts, etc.

I hope this article assists you the next time you lend a helping hand.
