Chalaadi Glacier is located approximately 16 km from Mestia. The initial 10 km pass through the town, followed by a rather unremarkable gravel road. The real adventure begins at the hanging bridge, situated about 4 km from the glacier. The hike is straightforward, requiring only walking. Many tourists and locals drive to the bridge to maximize their time at the glacier, and I recommend doing the same to allow for more time to hike all the way to the glacier.
I began the hike at approximately 8 AM and it took me 2.5 hours to reach the bridge. Crossing the bridge over the stream isn't too difficult. Once you cross, there's a pleasant café where you can enjoy coffee and beer. Additionally, you have the option to refill your water bottle there.
As you stroll along the stream, you'll pass through the forest. The stream's current is powerful, and the water originates from the glacier. Unfortunately, the stream carries a lot of sand, making it undrinkable unless you have some extra cloth to filter it.
After you pass through the wooded area, the hike reveals a breathtaking view of the glacier. You can choose to relax or continue hiking closer to the glacier. I opted to hike further towards the glacier since it tends to be less crowded. I noticed three bikers who had parked at the bridge also hiking near where I was, but unfortunately, some rocks fell on one of the bikers. He was bleeding heavily, so be cautious of falling rocks.

Views to the glacier:
On my walk back, I encountered a Canadian who had hitched a ride with a police car to Mestia, which was quite nice and cool. Overall, the hike is very easy but provides incredibly unforgettable views. Once I returned, I made myself a large bowl of soup, and my host offered me some pizza. What a great way to end the day :)
